Unspoken Love

Task

Facing her parents' divorce and the pressure of school, the "model student" Su Ying continues her mundane life every day. One day, during class, she feels the gaze of Yang Zhe. Their eyes meet, and Su Ying shyly looks away. During the break, Yang Zhe and Zhang Kai fool around in the classroom, with Yang Zhe helping Su Ying retrieve her pencil case, which the boys had tossed away, drawing laughter from the others. After school, Su Ying witnesses a warm family scene, feeling a deep yearning to be loved. Outside the school, Yang Zhe hands Su Ying a love letter, confessing his feelings and inviting her to meet that evening. At home, Su Ying has a confrontation with her mother, who forbids her from going out after discovering the letter. Su Ying, torn between her desires and her mother’s wishes, ultimately decides to sneak out and meet Yang Zhe that night. Yang Zhe, overjoyed to see her, is full of excitement, but Su Ying is unsure about her feelings towards him. Back at school, Yang Zhe buys a large bouquet of roses to give to Su Ying, drawing the attention and gossip of their classmates. Su Ying feels immense pressure, worried that her "model student" image will be tarnished. In front of the whole class, Yang Zhe presents her with the flowers, and Su Ying, embarrassed and angry, storms out of the classroom. The two are reprimanded in the teacher’s office, with Yang Zhe taking all the blame but denying his feelings for Su Ying. Confused and hurt, Su Ying is taken out of school by her mother in front of everyone, and she throws the paper roses out the window.
