She studied Acting in Berlin, graduated 2007, and was involved in several works as an actress (e.g. Nibelungenfestspiele Worms, Theater der Altmark, ZDF Fernsehfilm and several short films).
She then developed and produced her own shows and, amongst others, produced and directed a theatre show with children in the Evita se Perron theatre of Pieter Dirk Uys in “Darling” South Africa.
In 2011 Stefanie Plattner decided to venture into filmproducing, to be able to implement her own ideas and create a platform for others to do so too. She founded the production company “Storming Donkey Productions GmbH & Co. KG” and produced her first feature film “Hördur – Zwischen den Welten” which has been released in German cinema in October 2015 and won the German Film Critics Award for Best Children’s Movie.
With the short film “The little Fish and the Crocodile” she now took on the role as a film director for the very first time, implementing her experienced skills in theatre work with children and storytelling.
