A Typical Name for a Poor Child

Unhappy with the attitude of his children in the previous holiday, a father decides to take a poor child to the sea, Abdul. His intention is not to make him socialize with his children, but to use him as an example to teach them how lucky they are to live "on the beautiful side of inequality".

Emanuele Aldrovandi

Emanuele Aldrovandi (Reggio Emilia, 1985), graduated in Philosophy in Parma (ITALY) and in Literature in Bologna, he trained as a playwright at the Paolo Grassi Drama Academy in Milan. In 2013 with "Homicide House" he won the most important national recognition for the new dramaturgy, the Premio Riccione Pier Vittorio Tondelli, and his lyrics begin to be staged throughout Italy. He also won the Luigi Pirandello National Award, the Fersen Award, the Hystrio Award and the Mario Fratti Award. In the following years he worked with some of the main Italian theaters and was invited to numerous international festivals. His texts are translated and published in English, French, German, Spanish, Catalan, Polish and Slovenian. He also deals with adaptations, translations, site-specific projects and multimedia museum installations. He teaches theater writing at the Paolo Grassi Drama Academy and holds various writing workshops in Italy and abroad. "A typical poor child's name" is his second short film.
